Our Safety Commitment
We protect people. We protect property. We protect the environment.
Our Safety Commitment
Our commitment to improving safety is continuous. We have monthly meetings led by our Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Topics are season related and involve any new legislation, industry related accidents, and near misses.
Most of our employees are college trained in working at heights, hydro awareness, operating industry related equipment, Book 7 (setting up work zones on roads), first aid, CPR, WHMIS (workplace hazardous materials information system).
Our Health & Safety Manual
Our own Health and Safety Manual incorporates the Arborist Industry Safe Work Practices developed by a committee that involves:
- Ontario Commercial Arborist Association
- WSIB, Workplace Safety Insurance Board
- Landscape Ontario
- International Society of Arboriculture Ontario Chapter
- Ontario Parks Association
- Health and Safety Ontario
- Hydro Ontario
- Sir Sandford Fleming College
Safety Orientation
New employees are given a documented safety orientation their first day. In house and out of house training is an annual commitment that is arranged to suit each individual’s field of endeavour and expertise.
