2020 surely has been a year that no one will ever forget. From global pandemics, to ‘murder hornets’ we’ve seen our share of hits. However, in light of all the negativity around the world, there are buds of positivity in every corner of our great nation. Bells ringing every evening to support our front line workers, communities banding together to help those who are self sacrificing and isolating to stop the spread of COVID-19. There are countless examples of selflessness you can see every day.
The sense of nation-wide community is palatable. We have banded together in these times and as we start engaging back into the ‘new everyday way of living’, you have a sense of caring and community from compete strangers. People are opening the doors, smiling with their eyes while wearing their masks, and banding together in ways that makes us feel like we are always at home.
These are the things we need to celebrate on Canada Day, our people, our country, and our way of life. We are extremely lucky to live in a country that is fulled by compassion, empathy and community. We’re caring, were engaged, and we’re always open to growth and learning.
This Canada Day, take a moment to reflect on the positives rather than the negatives, thank your neighbour, thank a stranger, thank anyone who is working to make this great country, well, great.
